This article is for merchants who are either temporarily stepping away from Gifted or have decided to permanently end their partnership and want to understand how the offboarding process works.
Overview
Whether you're closing down, undergoing operational changes, or simply want to pause your visibility on Gifted, we offer flexible offboarding and pause options to suit your business needs. This ensures your customers are informed and your brand’s gift card offering is handled smoothly.
Pausing Your Merchant Listing (Temporary)
If you only wish to pause your visibility on the Gifted platform (e.g. during vacation periods, renovations, or staff shortages), we can temporarily:
Disable new gift card orders
Hide your brand page from search results
Keep already sold gift cards valid and redeemable (if agreed)

Include your store name, reason for pause, and expected resume date.
You can also resume your listing later by contacting the same email.
Offboarding from Gifted (Permanent Deactivation)
If you’ve decided to permanently end your partnership with Gifted, here’s how we offboard you:
Step 1: Inform Our Team
Send an email to onoffboard@getgifted.com with your:
Business name
Reason for offboarding
Preferred date for deactivation
Step 2: Listing Removal
We will:
Remove your gift cards from active sale
Disable visibility on all partner marketplaces
Mark your listing as “inactive” in our system
Step 3: Handling Outstanding Gift Cards
Any gift cards already sold will:
Remain valid for the period stated in the terms
Be eligible for redemption at your store (if applicable)
Be refunded if agreed upon otherwise
We’ll work with you on the best approach based on volume and redemption rates.
Step 4: Final Reporting & Payout
You will receive:
A final sales and redemption report
Any pending payouts according to the last payment cycle
A closing confirmation from our team
What Happens to Customer Data?
Gifted retains transactional and invoicing data in accordance with GDPR and local tax laws. All personal data is securely archived and never shared externally.
